My Story

The Northamptonshire Health Charity annual Tandem Skydive Day is taking place on Sunday 14th May and I am throwing myself out of a plane!! 🪂😬 It has always been something I have wanted to do and I have been given this opportunity to help raise money for The Daisy Suite Appeal at Northampton General Hospital.

Northamptonshire Health Charity are proud to be supporting Northampton General Hospital with a fundraising appeal to enhance the current facilities that provide the emotional as well as practical care and support for families who experience the devastating loss of a baby.

At present, bereaved parents often return to the maternity day unit and the wards area for follow up appointments and aftercare, a place where they were first supported following the distressing, heart-breaking news about their baby. You can perhaps imagine how upsetting this can be, adding to the overwhelming sense of sadness and loss families are feeling.

With your support, fundraising will help to create an improved, dedicated space, that offers privacy and is separate from the maternity wards.  Enhanced facilities which will support the work of our Bereavement Midwives in the follow up appointments, by providing an improved area to give the practical and emotional support needed in the weeks and months following the loss of a baby
